Nerf Gun Party

For Levi's 12Th birthday he wanted a Nerf battle with all his friends, so I had a Nerf themed birthday party, done very inexpensively I might add.

(I sent out Nerf themed invites asking the boys to bring their guns)

I used the Nerf "colors" of yellow, orange and black. I put up orange crepe paper, had orange tablecloths, yellow cups and black plastic forks & spoons... I took all his Nerf boxes and cut out the logos and pictures and put them all around the dining room. I also used the smaller logos from the Nerf boxes and stapled them onto the orange paper party favor bags.

Inside their bags I bought Nerf darts ($5 for a pack), yellow lemon candy and orange Cheese Nips for a snack.

I used the the logo from the box to make a quick cake topper-if I had more time I would have copied this off and made more toppers. (The boys didn't care)

For some of the games-

I researched some facts about the Nerf company, and the creator online, then made a 10 question trivia game out of it.

After the boys answered the questions, they were "certified" to use their Nerf guns.

Inside I had placed some targets on the windows and they used the smaller Nerf guns to try and hit their targets.

Outside I set up boxes on top of each other with printed "Nerf bots" taped and hanging on the inside. They had to try and hit the Bots--but it was much more difficult than they expected because Nerf foam bullets aren't very accurate. I let them move in and the winner was who ever could hit the Bot from farthest away.

They came inside for cupcakes and ice cream, then watched Levi open his gifts..which included a new Nerf gun of course.

Afterwards, they all went outside in their "camouflaged" clothes to have a Nerf battle.

Other neighborhood boys showed up to join in, and it lasted for 3 hours!

Levi said ( and I quote) ,"That was the best birthday party ever!"

Safari Party

For Lily's 10Th birthday, she wanted to include her love of animals into the mix.... We decided on a Safari theme.

She wore Brian's hat and Levi's fishing vest and some tan shorts for her ensemble.

I strung green crepe paper up for the vines, bought a monkey pinata to hang up in the vines.
I used her large plastic animals on the table for decoration, and bought paper plates and cups that said "Queen of the Jungle".

We used some small plastic animals for the cupcake toppers.

Before the girls arrived, I made passports and put the girl's pics in them. (printed off of the school annual)

When they arrived they wrote their vital statistics and then every time they played a game they stamped an animal image on the page inside.

The party favors were animal print eggs (candy inside), a little notebook, a pencil ,a small animal inside, plus a individual animal crackers and frosted animal cookies.

They played pin the tail on the Lion, tic-tac-toe with animals and bean bags, musical "mud holes" with cardboard outside on the grass, and hide and seek with stuffed animals.

Lily was over joyed with all the animal gifts she received and the art / make up supplies given to her. Hum -now where to put all of them??

Water slide = fun,fun,fun!

We went to Target on Friday and I spent the best $21.99, I could have!



For 3 days the kids have been playing outside on this slide!!



Seriously who knew they would love it this much??

I should have gotten this a long time ago-they want to go out and play on it as soon as they wake up. (They even finished their chores in record time!)

Barbie and Ken even got to try it out!

Later at night-they were all tuckered out!

Easter Tags

Here are some close up shots of the tags I made for the kid's baskets..

Lily had a "girlie" chick-image from Crafty secrets.. Martha Stewart ribbon & Crystal fine glitter.


I sponged Stampin' Up Creamy Carmel ink around the edges of the paper...

Placed a button on using Stampin' up mini glue dots...

Used some rick rack scissors for the bottom edge of the paper...

His little button has fallen off, I see...I'll have to go back, and add another glue dot!

Very fun to make-used lots of scraps and I love the sparkle from the glitter.

Setting my Easter Table & filling the baskets...

I took tons of photos to post on my blog-this one is all about my table. I spend way more time on decorating then I do thinking about the food we'll eat!

Step 1. Clear away Lego boxes and laundry.

Step 2. Place tablecloth and garage sale find table runner on table..(use white fabric if table cloth is not available)

Step 3. Place last year's, thrift store rabbits and grocery store $1.99 a bunch daffodils on center of table.

Step 4.Place place mats, Fiesta ware dishes, and flower plates on table. (these plates were from Safeway and were much less then the Pier Import plates I wanted and had looked at last year)

Step 5. Add flatware,water pitcher,egg cup holders, and hard boiled eggs.


Step 6. Add candy and chocolate bunny's in bowl.

Step 7. Add a couple marshmallow bunnies too!

Step 8. Get baskets and grass ready.

Step 9. Fill baskets with children's little presents.

I am so far behind on all the "going on's" in my life! I figured I might as well just jump in and post a few photos...
Sawyer helped pick up coconuts in the back yard..wanted me to open them. That is Levi's job! too hard for mom.

Praying Mantis, very big moths, you name it-he'll carefully pick it up and release it back into the jungle!

As I write there is a very big crawfish in a bowl-he's taking it to school tomorrow...
